WESSA’s Algoa Bay Branch beach clean-up for July will again concentrate on the area around The Beacon in Summerstrand, at the intersection of Marine Drive and Admiralty Way, on Saturday 25 July 2026 from 09:30 to 10:30. This coincides with this being Mandela Month.
This stretch of coastline has a serious, ongoing litter problem and needs regular clean-ups. So, although we have already made a significant difference, thanks to your commitment, we are hoping that by continuing to concentrate on this spot, we can gradually reduce this buildup of litter from finding its way into the sea.
There is ample parking at the Beacon. Please bring hats, sunscreen, water and your own gloves. We will provide litter bags.
This is a beautiful stretch of Pollok Beach, so let us continue to try and keep it that way. Thanks once again to all of you who support our monthly clean-ups. We look forward to seeing you there.
