Are you passionate about supporting community development and environmental projects through strong coordination and practical action?

WESSA is seeking a reliable and organised Project Coordinator: Socio-Economic Development (SED) to provide essential coordination, administrative and logistical support to socio-economic and environmental projects across the Western Cape and Northern Cape.

The role will support community Eco Hubs, sustainable agriculture initiatives and livelihood projects across multiple sites, helping to coordinate activities, maintain project documentation and provide day-to-day operational support between field sites and the office.

The position will also support engagement with municipalities, communities, NGOs and partners, as well as community consultations, data collection, project monitoring and reporting. Strong administrative, organisational and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple projects and maintain accurate project records.

The role requires a relevant Diploma or Degree in Project Management, Development Studies, Environmental Management, Administration, Social Sciences, or related field. Including 2–3 years’ experience in project coordination, administration, community engagement, facilitation or programme support.

Experience in sustainable agriculture, food gardens, food security or community-based programmes is essential. A valid Code B or higher driver’s licence and a reliable, roadworthy vehicle are also required.

The successful individual will be based remotely in Laingsburg, Karoo, with travel to other areas within the Western Cape and Northern Cape as required by the project.
