National Office Accountant

  • responsible for the day to day accounting of the various departments within WESSA
  • preparation and issuing of monthly management accounts to the departments and their sub departments
  • supervision of accounting staff
  • reporting to the financial manager

Requirements:

  • formal accounting qualification/degree
  • extensive experience
  • experience in ACCPACC would be an advantage
  • working knowledge of excel and word

Job Requirements

  • Good knowledge and experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies with particular experience in the NGO sector an advantage.
  • Able to develop a marketing structure to align marketing activities on a national basis to ensure consistency across the brand
  • Experience in project management, with specific reference to the development and production of publications, media liaison and other marketing materials and activities. These products will be required to build strong, healthy relationships with all relevant media and target markets in order to effectively maximize opportunities for building goodwill.
  • A good understanding of all the facets of marketing with a deep knowledge of the principles of marketing, particularly as they relate to the NGO sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to promote and encourage support to move the organisation towards the newly developed brand strategy.
  • Ability to lead a team to achieve brand and marketing objectives.
  • Strong organizing abilities.
  • An energetic team player that is self-driven.
  • The ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment while remaining focused on the set objectives.
  • The incumbent must understand that all marketing efforts are designed to build positive associations with WESSA and therefore the department's activities should be focused accordingly
  • The person must be able to carry out market research (formal / informal) to measure and monitor the arena in which WESSA operates, while providing flexibility to cover potential areas of future involvement
  • The incumbent will be solely responsible for ensuring the ongoing integrity of the WESSA Brand through corporate image control
  • The position has responsibility, and accountability, for the Membership, Donor Support, Publications, Brand and Communication Tools and Fundraising of General Funds portfolios
  • The incumbent will be responsible for managing external suppliers with respect to Publications, Public Relations and Fundraisers
  • This person will be required to create, develop, monitor and adhere to a marketing budget as approved by the CEO from time to time.
