ECO-SCHOOLS LINKS

  • International Eco-Schools internet linking programme
The Linking and Itinerary project offers the possibility to know a community of schools from all over the world, where teachers and students show their work and share it with others online. It aims at providing an "Itinerary" where schools can visit each other virtually, and understand their characteristics within their regional contexts. Through a search engine, the “Linking” can also be used to identify Eco-Schools with similar interests, for exchange ideas, and work together on projects of varying scale and duration, on sustainable development issues.

If you are an Eco-School and would like to participate in the linking programme, you need to go to www.eco-schools.net, click on the button that says "School Pre-Registration" and the registration form will pop up. Once you have completed and submitted the form, please send an e-mail to Caroline or Bridget at ecoschools@wessa.co.za so that she can validate your entry. She will confirm validation by e-mail, and you will be able to access the database of other international schools and start communicating with any school you wish. In addition, the first time you enter the site, you should begin by completing the registration form - this provides a lot more detail of your school than the pre-registration form. It has space for photographs, special interests, school and local environment, etc.
