We’re an accredited facilitator of Socio
Economic Development (SED). More than
of the direct beneficiaries of
our projects are black South
Africans, as defined by current B-BBEE
legislation. By supporting us, corporates
are able to gain SED points to improve
their B-BBEE scorecard.
We work with teachers and learners
throughout South Africa to support and
improve school curriculums with regards to
environmental learning. Because of this,
children are now being equipped to live
sustainably in the future. Through the
Eco-Schools programme we reach 500 000
learners and 40 000 educators in South Africa.
And over 149 000 students are involved in
our active learning sustainability projects
throughout the country.

We partner with government departments,
local and traditional authorities, corporate
organisations and urban and rural communities
in key water catchment areas. Our goal is to
make social, ecological and economic
contributions towards the improvement of
the quality, availability and distribution of
South Africa’s water resources.

We’ve been a membership
organisation since 1926. Our strong
presence on the ground today is further
strengthened by thousands of members,
friends groups and branches throughout
South Africa who, like us, are dedicated
to caring for the earth.
